Grooper 2025 was officially released this week. You can find it where you always find Grooper downloads in the Grooper Xchange.
This is the most exciting, complete release of Grooper ever. We’ve added so much functionality that I can’t cover it here.
So, I’ll just cover the highlights.
Grooper’s AI-Based Assistants
If you’ve been reading any of our blogs, this newsletter, or attended any of our live learning events this year, you’ve heard about our AI Assistants.
But what exactly are AI Assistants, and how can you use them?
An AI Assistant is an LLM-powered assistant that can be configured to use your resources and digital assets to aid in answering questions.
Here are a few quick examples:
- An HR bot that you can ask about company policies.
- A knowledge resource that has a collection of your most critical data assets.
- A bot to help visitors navigate your complex website.
- An assistant that has access to all of your company’s documents.
AI Assistants (ours are just shy of an “Agent,” by the way) are incredibly powerful and helpful, and Grooper makes it easy to build and deploy these complex pieces of AI.
You don’t need to know Python (not a snake).
You don’t need a data scientist.
Just connect resources (documents and data) to the assistant and deploy. The Grooper chat page can be used immediately, but we have options to deploy these Assistants outside of Grooper as well.
AI-Based Productivity Helpers
I know, I know, AI is everywhere these days, and I’m sure some of you are tired of it.
In fact, there’s a phrase called “AI Washing” that is a result of people slapping AI on everything to get attention. Most of our competitors are doing the same thing – they implement with an LLM and call it a day.
But that’s not what we’re doing in Grooper 2025. We have helpers now that empower you to ask an AI how to “do a thing” inside Grooper.
Here’s a quick list of these helpers:
AI Schema Importer – Tell Grooper what kind of data model you need (like “invoice processing”), and it will build the structure for you.
AI Query Helper – Not sure how to search? Describe what you’re looking for, and Grooper writes the search for you.
AI Expression Helper – Need a regular expression? Just say what it should find, and Grooper builds it.
DB Lookup Helper – Builds SQL queries from plain English (My SQL skills are dusty – I’ve used this one a lot!).
XSLT Helper – Converts your instructions into XML transforms (I use this to create custom .csv files).
AI Helpers Everywhere – Whether you’re editing lists, descriptions, lexicons, or code expressions, AI can generate them with a simple prompt.
We’re making Grooper easier and easier to use.
There’s a lot more to Grooper 2025. I could go on for a very long time, but I’m going to spare you.
