If you’ve been following along, you know this version was initially planned as “2024.1.” However, as we kept making breakthroughs—including crossing into a new year—we decided to rename it.
This is the most advanced and feature-packed Grooper yet. Every software release claims to be “the best ever,” but with the technology at our fingertips, this time, it’s undeniably true.

Grooper has always leveraged AI, including lexical classification training, fuzzy regular expressions, 70+ computer vision-based cleanup algorithms, and patented OCR processes. But Grooper 2025 takes it further by integrating vector indexing, LLM-powered assistants, and AI helpers to make your work easier and more powerful, giving you better business outcomes.
We’ve already seen AI deliver incredible results: Funeral Directors Life saw a 10% accuracy boost the day they enabled AI Extract (our LLM-powered extraction in Grooper 2024).
But beyond better data extraction, AI is now embedded inside Grooper Design Studio to help you build models and workflows faster than ever.
AI-Powered Design Studio
I have a demo where I built a Grooper invoice model and extracted data using AI in under a minute.
We’ve added AI helpers throughout the Design Studio—just look for the little icon of a head in Grooper text entry boxes. These assistants streamline:
- Data model creation (create your fields automatically)
- Regular expressions
- Calculate expressions
- SQL statements
- Search queries
- Document transformations (XSLT) – .csv or .html files
- Any expression-based task—describe what you need, and AI does the rest.
For example, to create an invoice model, simply:
- Select Import Schema
- Choose AI Generated
- Type: “Create an invoice model”
That’s it. Sections, fields, and line items are built instantly—no manual setup required.
Need to validate line items?
- Go to the Line Total field
- Open Calculate Expression property
- Click the AI helper icon
- Type: “The line total equals quantity times unit price”
